Motor airbag vests are growing in popularity every day. Also because they are becoming more affordable. Motor airbags can be divided into two groups, namely the type that completely stand alone and a type that is connected with a motor mounting cord.
In our shop we only offer stand alone air bag vests. For the simple reason that they are much safer. Airbag vests based on a cord or GPS are less reliable and do not function in a number of essential situations. With GPS you can loose your GPS connection and you are therefore unprotected. And with a cord you are not protected when a car hits you from behind. In addition, you are limited to only your own motorbike. Do you have to ride on another motorbike in case of trouble? Or would you like to ride someone else's motorbike? In both these cases the airbag won't protect you anymore.
The Alpinestars Tech-Air airbag vest is suitable for motorcycle jackets and motorcycle suits from Alpinestars Tech-Air collection. The Tech-Air system works completely stand alone. There is no connection to the motor or GPS. The sensors are all incorporated in the air bag. This ensures comfort while wearing and driving and provides protection in all kinds of accidents.

Dainese has had D-air products for a long time, at first the airbag was immediately integrated into the jacket or motorcycle suit.It was not a separate jacket and airbag vest as is the case with Alpinestars.Dainese has now designed the Smart Jacket, the airbag is wear-resistant, you can easily wear it under but also over your own motorcycle jacket. The successor to the Smart Jacket is the Smart Air, this airbag is lighter, more compact and safer than its predecessor. The Smart Air can be used for both street and light off-road use. Just like the new airbags from Alpinestars, you can change the inflators yourself, the instructions can be found in the D-Air app. In the D-Air app you can easily see the battery percentage and whether the system needs an update.
