After the introduction of the Smart jacket, Dainese has decided to also market a long sleeve variant. This Smart Jacket LS is equipped with a certified airbag on the back and chest. The Smart LS is also equipped with Pro-Armor protectors on the shoulders and elbows for complete protection. The pro-Armor technology offers the highest level of protection, as well as full mobility and exceptional ventilation, thanks to its soft structure and ventilated surface.
The D-Air® airbag system Smart Jacket requires no connection to the motorcycle. It can be used as a regular ventilated jacket or worn underneath a normal jacket. Without cables or connections, it detects dangerous situations and immediately activates the Shield. A microfilament designed airbag that provides the highest degree of protection to the chest and back, while limiting any movement of the neck and helmet. The system activates and protects in the event of a sliding, high side, collision with an obstacle or a vehicle, or a rear-end collision, even when you are standing still. With Smart Jacket LS, the Dainese D-air® system offers the covered areas a level of protection equivalent to seven level 1 back protectors, without the need for a rigid back protector.

The brain inside the Smart Jacket senses and analyses everything that goes on around the motorcycle rider. It uses its seven sensors to monitor and process data 1,000 times a second. Its complex algorithm decides to deploy the airbag in the event of lowsiders, highsiders, collisions with objects or other vehicles, and rear-end collisions. For the first time with a motorcycle airbag system, deployment also occurs in a collision with a stationary vehicle, which is common when stopping at an intersection.
