Replacing battery for the Macna heated pants/jacket.
When looking for batteries, make sure you’re not comparing apples (7.4V) with pears (12V), as a higher voltage will heat faster and reaches higher temperatures. In moto-terms, volts can be compared to the engine capacity (cc) of your motorcycle. To give you an idea: 12V on its lowest level (40% power) is comparable to 7.4V on its second-highest level (80% power).
Amperage indicates how much power runs through the wires at a given moment. Basically, the amperage determines how long the battery will last before it needs a recharge. In a way, amperage is the equivalent of the size of your gas tank.
By multiplying the volts and amps, we find the battery’s wattage, or put simply: power output. We talk about power output instead of temperatures because power output can be calculated (V x A = W) and temperatures are subject to factors out of our control.
